Viewing a single story should be fast again. There's an issue with the story view counts that was slowing the whole thing down horribly (as I'm sure you noticed).

For now, I'm just going to disable submission view counts until I finally get around to finishing the new-new-new version of this site (coming soon LOLOLOL /wrists)
